A Magyar Irodalomtörténet bibliográfiája
Bibliográfia nélkül nem létezhet hiteles és mértékadó irodalomtudomány.
Mióta az irodalmi művek vizsgálata tudománnyá vált, alapvető elvárás, hogy tudjuk és regisztráljuk azt, milyen alkotások születtek, melyek egy adott korban irodalomként értelmeződtek. Ez egyébként összességében nem kevesebb, mint a magyar nemzet mindenkori irodalmának szövegkincse. Emellett pedig tudományágunkban azt a szellemi erőt és értelmezői kört is fel kell tudni mutatni, amelyből tájékozódni lehet, hogy ezekről az alkotásokról kiktől, mikor, milyen értelmezések, gondolatok születtek. Az irodalomtörténet bibliográfiája az irodalomtudomány segédtudománya, de olyan segédtudomány, olyan szakmai támasz és segítség, amely nélkül mérvadó tudományos irodalomtörténeti / irodalomértelmezői munka valójában el sem kezdődhet.
A Magyar irodalomtörténet bibliográfiája kötetsorozat 8 kötete 1970-ig gyűjtötte fel az adatokat. Az 1966–1990 közötti irodalomtörténeti szakirodalmat az Országos Széchényi Könyvtár kurrens bibliográfiai összeállításai tartalmazzák, amelyek szerkezetéhez az Irodalomtörténeti Közleményekben közölt éves irodalomtörténeti bibliográfia is alapul szolgált. Az 1991–1995 és az 1996–2000 közötti évek irodalomtörténeti bibliográfiai adatainak újabb két kötete 2007-ben és 2013-ban jelent meg. Ezzel a 10 kötettel a papír alapú retrospektív irodalomtörténeti bibliográfiai kézikönyv korszakos vállalkozása lezárult.
2013-ban digitális bibliográfiai adatgyűjtés kezdődött egy nyilvánosan elérhető internetes irodalomtudományi bibliográfiai portál számára, mely a 10. bibliográfiai kötet utáni korszak adatait összegzi. A munka a 2013-ra vonatkozó éves irodalomtörténeti és magyar vonatkozású elméleti szakirodalom felgyűjtésével indult meg, jelenleg a 2018-as év eredményeinek begyűjtésénél tart. A munkatársak közel 700 periodikát tartanak figyelmük alatt és folyamatosan 450–500 folyóirat anyagát nézik át. Minden tételt kézbevétellel gyűjtenek fel, helyezik el a szakrendbe és látják el szakmai annotációval. Az átnézendő újság- és folyóiratlista összeállítása során rendkívüli figyelmet fordítanak az idegen nyelvű, a társdiszciplínák felé nyitó orgánumokra és a regionális periodikák és folyóiratok bevonására is. 2017-ben megkezdődött a szak- és tanulmánykötetek anyagának felgyűjtése is.
A másik kiemelt feladatként a már megjelent, tízkötetes irodalomtörténeti bibliográfiai kézikönyvének retrokonverziója is elindult. 2016-tól az Irodalomtudományi Intézet online bibliográfiai keresőt indított, amelyben a 2. és 3. kötet anyaga vált használhatóvá. Ez azt jelenti, hogy az eddig csupán pdf-ben olvasható adatokat adatbázisba helyezve teljes szabad keresésre teszik alkalmassá és mindenki számára elérhetővé.
Az adatok migrációját követően a korábbi adatbázis 2024. januárban vált hozzáférhetővé az ITIdata szemantikus adatbázisban is.

Bibliography of Hungarian Literary History
Without bibliography, authentic and authoritative literary studies cannot exist.
Since the study of literary works has become a science, it has been a fundamental requirement to know and register which works were created that were interpreted as literature in a given era. This, in fact, represents nothing less than the body of texts of the Hungarian nation’s literature at any given time. Furthermore, in our field, we must also be able to present the intellectual power and interpretive circle from which one can navigate to learn who, when, and what interpretations and thoughts were formed about these works. The bibliography of literary history is an auxiliary science of literary studies, but it is an auxiliary science, a professional support and help without which authoritative scientific literary historical/literary interpretative work could not even begin.
The eight volumes of the Bibliography of Hungarian Literary History collected data up until 1970. The literary historical literature from 1966 to 1990 is included in the current bibliographical compilations of the National Széchényi Library, the structure of which was also based on the annual literary historical bibliography published in the Irodalomtörténeti Közlemények. Two more volumes containing the literary historical bibliographical data for the years 1991–1995 and 1996–2000 were published in 2007 and 2013. With these 10 volumes, the paper-based retrospective literary historical bibliographical handbook's era-defining project has been concluded.
In 2013, digital bibliographical data collection began for a publicly accessible internet-based literary studies bibliographical portal, which summarizes the data from the period following the 10th bibliographical volume. The work started by collecting the annual literary historical and Hungarian-related theoretical literature for 2013, and it is currently in the process of gathering data for the year 2018. The team monitors nearly 700 periodicals and continuously reviews the content of 450–500 journals. Each item is collected manually, placed in the appropriate subject category, and annotated with professional commentary. Special attention is given to foreign language publications, journals that connect with related disciplines, as well as regional periodicals and journals. In 2017, the collection of materials from scholarly and study volumes also began.
Another key task that was initiated is the retroconversion of the already published ten-volume literary historical bibliographical handbook. Since 2016, the Institute for Literary Studies has launched an online bibliographical search tool, which made the content of volumes 2 and 3 available for use. This means that the data, which was previously only accessible in PDF format, is now placed in a database, making it fully searchable and available to everyone.
After the data migration, the previous database became accessible in the ITIdata semantic database in January 2024.
