1957. január 7. és 1957. február 24. között történt legfontosabb irodalmi és színházi események. 1957. január 17. felfüggesztették az Írószövetség működését. január 18. Vidéki turnéra indult a Nemzeti, játsszák Illyés Gyula: Fáklyaláng és Lorca: Bernarda háza c. darabjaikat. január 19. Letartóztatták Háy Gyula, Lengyel Balázs, Tardos Tibor és Zelk Zoltán írókat. Január 31. A Népszabadságban megjelent Gellért Oszkár Nyílt levél a magyar írókhoz című írása. Február 24. A Nemzeti Színház igazgatósága hírül adta, hogy március 15-én Katona József: Bánk bán című darabjával nyitja meg a színházat. (Hungarian)
