Egy ősnyomtatvány sorozat története, ami a Reformációig az erdélyi besztercei domonkos kolostor tulajdonában volt. Az ősnyomtatványokat 1878-ban átvitték a budapesti Központi Piarista Könyvtárba. A könyvek történetének pontosításához a jelen kutatás két új forrást használt: a Központi Piarista Könyvtár online katalógusát és a 2009-ben felfedezett, eddig nem használt Historia Bistriciensis Domus Scholarum Piarum ab anno MDCCXVII-t.
