A Nemzeti Színház 1956. október 23-tól 1957. március 24-ig tartott kényszerpihenőt. A harcokban megsérült épület öt hónapos szünet után nyitotta meg újra a kapuit Katona József drámájával, a Bánk bánnal [amely verzió 1951 óta volt műsoron]. Az 1955 óta játszott Az ember tragédiája is műsorra került. (Hungarian)
